Yorkshire CCC’s new water sponsors Harrogate Spring have now teamed up with England Cricket.

The original British bottled water was unveiled as the Official Water of England Cricket at Lords Cricket Club, the home of English cricket.

Former Yorkshire & England fast bowler Darren Gough helped announce the distinguished water brand’s new partnership with James Cain, MD Harrogate Water Brands, as the brand aims to further cement its position as the number one premium British spring water.

The biggest sponsorship deal to date by the iconic British water will see England cricketers provided with Harrogate Spring Water at every home Investec Test Match, Royal London One-Day International and NatWest International T20 starting with the team’s first international fixture of the summer, the NatWest International T20 against Sri Lanka at The Kia Oval on May 20.

The partnership with the ECB also includes sponsorship of the on pitch drinks break during each International match, broadcast live on Sky Sports. The ‘Harrogate Spring Hydration Break’ will be supported by stadium announcements and branding.

In conjunction with the ECB announcement, Harrogate Water Brands has also revealed a contemporary new look across its entire Harrogate Spring Water range, available from the end of May. The new ‘Diamond Bottles’ will proudly carry the England Cricket logo and ‘Official Water of England Cricket’ on all new labels and packaging.

The announcement comes as the family-owned company’s £8m investment in its showpiece, state-of-the-art bottling facility in Harrogate, is due to begin production of the new product. The 23,000 sq ft. extension to the existing building has more than doubled Harrogate Spring Water’s current facilities.

The branding and bottle design also reflect Harrogate Spring Water’s rich bottled water heritage; being sourced from the original British spa town, Harrogate, which has been producing water since 1571. This lineage is highlighted on pack, enhancing the authenticity of the product and celebrating Harrogate’s role in the development of bottled water in the UK. Sourced in the heart of Yorkshire within a protected conservation area, Harrogate is synonymous with the highest quality, with all the hydration benefits of naturally sourced spring water.

James Cain, Managing Director of Harrogate Water Brands, explained: “We’re thrilled to work with the ECB to become The Official Water of England Cricket. The sponsorship deal is with one of the best cricket teams in the world is a major statement of intent from Harrogate Spring Water, and emphasises our commitment to maintaining our position as the No.1 premium British Spring Water.

David Collier, Chief Executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board, said: “We’d like to thank Harrogate Spring Water for becoming the new Official Water of England Cricket. Harrogate Spring Water and the England and Wales Cricket Board both share a rich heritage, and we feel there is an excellent brand fit between Harrogate Spring Water and the England Cricket Team that will positively impact both parties.”
