Bouncing back from midweek defeat

Have your say

After what had been a good weekend for us, we were left frustrated on Tuesday at farsley by two set-pieces.

We spoke about James Walshaw in the build-up to the game, mentioning what he was capable of.

He is a player who can be out of the game for long periods, but he can spring up out of nowhere in the box. That is why he’s scored so many goals and why we wanted him at this club.

The only way I could see Farsley getting back into the game was through our mistakes and that is what happened.

We just had to go man for man, pick up your player and we’d have left there with three points.

Farsley are a team with a massive budget and they have some good players. At times we made them look average for long periods, which is a positive.

Farsley have gone clear of us and have a game or two in hand, but it is a long season.

They’ve got to keep their run going, we’ll see where we are in April.

They took the spoils on Tuesday, but I can guarantee they won’t fancy coming to our place later in the campaign.

Our swords will cross again and I’m sure they’ll be up there at the end of the season with us.

We now need to dust ourselves down, go out there and win our next two games, starting on Saturday when we entertain Colne.

There are a lot of good teams in this league and I’m sure that Colne will be one of them.

It is now a case of pushing on once again and starting another run of games where we are picking up points.

Over the next month or so we’ll get Dean Lisles back and Alhassane Keita as well.

Eddy Birch pulled out of the game on Tuesday due to injury as well, so he will slot back in there.

These are all things we can look forward to.

Dean is a good, good player. we need him back and we need him strong and that will be a boost for us.

Alhassane is an unknown in this league, so he will be a big threat when he returns to the squad.

If we can get things shored up at the back, solidify things, then we’ll go from strength to strength.
