The Wanted

The Wanted

Chart toppers The Wanted are the latest act to be announced for the Open Air Theatre.

The group will perform at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Friday 14 June. Following success with their international debut last year in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, band members Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran will bring their unmistakable vocals to Scarborough.

It’s their only UK date announced so far this year.

The band will perform a string of hits from their previous studio albums The Wanted and Battleground.

Formed in 2009, the band’s debut album, The Wanted, was released in October 2010 and peaked at number 4 in the UK album charts.

Debut single All Time Low reached number 1 in the UK singles chart.

The band’s first theatre tour, Behind Bars Tour, sold out within weeks of going on sale in 2011.

The tour featured 12 different cities with a total of sixteen dates. The single Glad You Came taken from the band’s second album Battleground topped the singles chart for two weeks in the UK and for five weeks in Ireland.

The band has recently won the 2013 People’s Choice Award for Favourite Breakout Artist.

The Wanted is the fourth act to be announced by Scarborough Council for this summer’s line up at Scarborough Open Air Theatre, after tickets went on sale last month for Status Quo (27 July) and McFly (30 August) and tickets for Leona go on sale 21st January 2013.

Ticket details to follow.
