Small and medium-sized businesses around Hunmanby have been offered the latest crime-prevention advice, including free property marking, at a roadshow hosted by North Yorkshire Police. The free event, held at Hunmanby Industrial Estate on Wednesday, is just one of a number of roadshows being held at selected business parks around the county. They are being organised through the Business Crime Reduction Centre (BCRC), which is a partnership of police forces in Yorkshire and Humberside working together with the People United Against Crime charity. Last year the centre helped improve the security of 104 small and medium-sized businesses in the county. A spokesperson said: “Being a victim of crime can often lead to a business going bust or having to relocate. But by giving security advice we can help to safeguard and create jobs. This year, through the roadshows, we hope to be able to help even more small and medium-sized businesses to improve their security.” For more information or to register for a roadshow call 0114 275 1283 or visit www.bcrc-uk.org/events
