A Yorkshire Wolds micro brewery which straddles East and North Yorkshire is celebrating after being shortlisted for a tourism award.
Hunmanby-based Wold Top Brewery has been shortlisted in the Remarkable Fayre category of the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards.
It faces competition from other Yorkshire producers including the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School, near Driffield, the Side Oven Bakery, Foston on the Wolds, and Staal Smokehouse Ltd in Log Riston.
Brewery owner Gill Mellor said: “We’re very proud to have been shortlisted for this award for the second time in as many years.”
Farm-based Wold Top Brewery is part of the Higher Level Stewardship scheme for environmental initiatives and is also working closely with the RSPB to promote its birdlife.
It brews traditional real ale from home and Wolds grown malting barley, the finest hops and chalk-filtered water from the farm’s own borehole.
Its range of award-winning ales is available through the website, independent, family-owned retailers, farm shops, delis, hotels, pubs and off licences.
Living Seas Centre, Flamborough, RSBP Bempton Cliffs and Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail are all in the running for Remarkable Visitor Attraction accolade.
High Barn Cottages, Bempton, have been shortlisted in the Remarkable Self Catering Provider and Remarkable SuSustainable catergories.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Bridlington Spa on March 13.
